Drumming Workshop – The Beat Goes On
The drumming workshop –the beat goes on happened on the 7/2/2019
Drumming report from Daniel and Imogen age 9 year 5
The drumming workshop – the beat goes on was incredible exciting experience and something that will always be remembered by me. It is a chance to have a great time and learn about Brazilian drums. I felt that we were experienced a great hour of learning and excitement. I learned the names of the Brazilian hand and stick drums. I learnt how to play different pieces through a repeat and return process, we also were taught the many hand gestures used in Brazilian drumming bands across the world. As well this I learnt the 3 first numbers in Brazilian Portuguese. As well as this I learned that there are more Brazilian Portuguese than Portuguese from Portugal.
All of us in class 5 noticed that we were doing drumming lessons today; we were all pumping with excitement at 9:00am all of us went to the mobile outside of school and went in there. It was amazing! There was a circle of chairs and under the chairs were Brazilian drums I was amazed! Later when we all sat down there was this really kind and sweet lady who told us facts about everything. After she told us some facts and then later allowed us to play the drums there was taps, bangs and loads of laughs from us! Sadly we left at 10:00am and for the rest of the day we were all happy and we were all giggling! It was not what I expected.
